Simulation

Use math and computers to mimic real-world data. Model complex systems, explore “what-if”s ‘cheaply’.

Two big types: Deterministic and Stochastic models.

Use some Probability distro to simulate! When you set the params of the distro you are saying something about the world, you are assuming something about the world, you are embedding your assumptions about the world into the model/distro.

Simulation should follow the generative process. Think of DAGs A -> B -> C.
