The FINER Framework​

  • Feasible — adequate subjects, expertise, time, money, scope
  • Interesting — to investigator and stakeholders
  • Novel — new findings, confirms/refutes/extends prior work
  • Ethical — risk to subjects, ethical interpretation
  • Relevant — to scientific knowledge, clinical policy, informatics, future research
