TCID50

In virology (and elsewhere) this stands for "Tissue Culture Infectious Dose" and is denoted TCID₅₀/mL and measures viral load. For example, if this is 1,000 TCID₅₀/mL, I am saying "If you poured the entire thing into a cell well, all cells will be infected. But if you dilute it 1,000 times, at least half (50%) of them will be infected." Note that with mL, we're dealing with volumes and not weights, so it's all relative. There are calculators for people who do this stuff for a living.
